As a general guideline, the procedure followed before the construction of a new boat is as follows:

1.Guidance for design and construction method selection: Useful if you are not clear on what you want and what your objectives are.
If you have already decided on plan, construction material and construction method, this step can be skipped.

2. Based on the study plans (an economical “summary” of the detailed designer plans) of a design you like, a report is being carried out to inform you on the project budget (both materials and labour). This will give you the order of magnitude of expense, so as to decide whether you will go on with the project or choose something else.
3. Should you decide to go on with a specific design, a more detailed schedule is compiled.
When everything has been discussed and agreed, a detailed contract is written, containing everything necessary for the construction to start.

The aforementioned procedure is similar but simpler if you plan to fit out a given hull & deck. For repairs, fabrication of boat parts etc., it is obviously far simpler.

Again, it has to be stressed that you cannot expect to find answers to everything herein, so please feel free to contact us by e-mail, fax, post or phone for any questions regarding your boat dreams.
All requests will be answered as soon as possible.
